Burundi hammer Ethiopia in CECAFA clash – African Football

Burundi moved top of Group B following a commanding 4-1 win over Ethiopia in a 2017 CECAFA clash on Thursday.

The Swallows opened the scoring through Pierrot Kwizera on the half-hour mark, but were pegged back by Walia Ibex on the stroke of half-time.

Dawa Hotessa making no mistake from the penalty area. The game deadlocked at 1-1 after the first stanza.

Burundi came out firing following the interval and regained the lead in the 53rd minute. Cedrick Urasenga with the goal.

Laudit Mavugo doubled the Swallows lead in the 67th minute before Shasiri Nahimana wrapped up proceedings 10 minutes later.

Victory securing a memorable win for Burundi.
